Club Tournaments
We run club tournaments once or twice a year. These tournaments are open to Melbourne Smashers Club and Shuttlecats members only. Our next tournament is on the 6 Oct 2018 . Entry is open now and you can buy tickets here.
Trans Tasman Tournament and The Straits Games
Melbourne Smashers started the annual Trans Tasman Tournament with the first tournament in 2013. Players from the Sydney Shuttles and Auckland Feathers as well as Melbourne Smashers competed. Since then the tournament has grown, with Auckland hosting it in 2014 and Sydney in 2015.
The 2016 tournament was held again in Melbourne, with 96 players competing. In addition to Auckland and Sydney, we welcomed players from Wellington for the first time.
2018 Trans-Tasman Tournament
The Sydney Shuttles will be hosting the 2018 tournament on 20th October, in Sydney Early Bird tickets are on sale now, and we strongly recommend that you purchase your tickets as soon as possible. Please purchase them here.
The Straits Games
The Straits Games are being held in Vietnam in 2018. These are games for LGBTQI players from throughout the South-East Asian region. You can find further information here.
Future Tournaments
We are keen to increase participation from other LGBTQI badminton clubs in Australia and New Zealand and in our region. If you know of a club in Australia or New Zealand who hasn't taken part, please contact us.
